There are a lot of factors to consider when deciding where to live out your golden years. While cost-of-living and access to healthcare are certainly important, so is your happiness. That’s why Caring.com created its Senior Happiness Index. To determine which states have the happiest seniors, it looked at various factors, such as happiness levels, good health rates of over-60s, and the number of senior centers per state.

It found that Utah is the happiest state for seniors, followed by Idaho, then Connecticut and Delaware, which tied for third place. Rounding out the top five is Hawaii. Interestingly, while Florida, North Carolina, and Arizona are popular retirement destinations, they did not score high on the list of the happiest locations for seniors.

The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of older Americans through the passage of the Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), increased minimum benefits, and ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
