Social Security Retirement Benefits Payments Are Getting Bigger

Did you know that the average Social Security retirement benefits payment has been steadily increasing?
According to Kiplinger, the average monthly benefit for retired workers was $2,008.31 in August. That’s an increase of $1.62 over July’s average. And the Social Security Administration says the average retiree’s monthly benefit has increased by almost $30 since January.
But while every dollar certainly makes a difference, seniors are still struggling financially.
The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of older Americans through the passage of the Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), increased minimum benefits, and ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
