Today, August 14th, 2020 is the 85th anniversary of the establishment of Social Security. On this day in 1935, President Franklin Roosevelt signed into law the Social Security Act.

We celebrate this day but more work must be done. We call on the President and Congress to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors by passing the Social Security Expansion Act. This crucial legislation will have a massive impact on the well-being of senior citizens, just like the original Social Security Act.

There’s no way around it, seniors earned the $65 a month raise, an improved COLA, and enhanced benefits guaranteed by this legislation.

To honor this anniversary, please consider signing our petition calling on Congress to pass the Social Security Expansion Act.

Just as history was made in 1935, we can make history now.
