The Social Security Administration (SSA) is embracing digital communications. According to a recent blog post, it is now making more notices and other communications available through your personal my Social Security account. Besides being more convenient and efficient, the SSA says its online, paperless option is environmentally friendly, faster than U.S. mail, and eliminates lost, delayed, or misplaced notices.

Customers can select the paperless option using the Preferences link in the Message Center of their my Social Security account. Customers can also request to receive an email or text (or both) alert notifying them of digital notices and updates.

The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the lives of America’s retirees through the passage of The Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), and increased minimum benefits. This bill will also ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
