This Year’s Best and Worst States to Retire
Where you live has a huge impact on your quality of life. This is especially true for retirees. A survey by The Motley Fool helped determine what qualities Americans value most in retirement in order to rank the states from best to worst for retirees. After examining factors such as quality of life, housing cost, healthcare quality and cost, crime, taxes, cost of living, weather and more, it came up with this list:
The 10 best states to retire in 2025 are Florida (#1), Nebraska, Maryland, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Utah, Iowa, New Jersey and South Dakota. On the other end of the spectrum, the worst states to retire in this year are Nevada, Arkansas, New York, California and New Mexico (#50).
The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of America’s retirees through the passage of The Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), increased minimum benefits, and will ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
