The Travel Industry Is Preparing for a Big Summer Season

The tourism industry is finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. With the government now stating that all adults should have access to the Covid-19 vaccine by the end of May, The Washington Post discovered that travel industry insiders are preparing for a busy summer season.

Domestic travel is expected to dominate travel plans, with many vacationers seeking open spaces – think beaches and mountains which provide for natural social distancing. How we travel has been impacted by the pandemic as much as where we travel. Road trips continue to be quite popular, with the RV industry seeing record bookings. Fear of flying appears to be dwindling as more and more people get vaccinated. The TSA is already staffing up in preparation for increased flights this summer.
