New Social Security Feature Makes Life Easier and More Secure

As part of its continuing effort to improve customer service and enhance security measures, the Social Security Administration is adding a new digital Social Security Number (SSN) feature. According to PennLive, starting early this summer, users with a My Social Security online account can access their Social Security cards digitally instead of carrying a physical card, helping protect personal information.
The hope is that by providing digital access, it is less likely that people will lose their SSN card or have it stolen. Additionally, this feature should reduce the number of in-person visits to Social Security offices and the waiting time to receive an SSN card in the mail.
The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of older Americans through the passage of the Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), increased minimum benefits, and ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
