See How Much Your Social Security Benefit is Expected to be by 2030
Social Security benefits are the financial lifeblood for many older Americans. According to an article by MoneyWise, nearly nine out of every ten people over the age of 65 were receiving benefits at this time last year. Social Security accounts for about a third of their retirement income.
This year, the average Social Security benefit check is $1,907 per month. It’s only expected to increase to $2,348 by 2030. That’s not a huge increase, especially if nothing happens to tamp down inflation.
The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of America’s retirees through passage of The Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), increased minimum benefits, and will ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
