Millions of retired Americans receive Social Security benefits each month, but very few people understand how the program works. According to an article by CNBC, 69 percent of people either failed or barely passed a simple 13-question Social Security quiz!

And the questions that seemed to stump the most people were about whether Social Security is subject to income tax, and whether non-citizens can collect Social Security,. One ting almost everyone surveyed (84 percent) knew was that if you take benefits before reaching full retirement age they will be reduced for early filing.

The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of America’s retirees through passage of The Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), and increased minimum benefits.
