A warning sign

Sean Williams at The Motley Fool/USAToday writes that “Social Security may run out of money sooner than expected.”

Williams warns that “growing income inequality,” “historically low birth-rates,” and lower legal immigration may cause the Social Security Trust Fund to run low.

Congress must heed this warning and ensure Social Security is expanded and enhanced for seniors. Our representatives need to protect the benefits Americans rightfully earned.

The Social Security Expansion Act is currently stuck in committee. This legislation must receive an immediate vote on the floor of the Senate.

This bill guarantees senior citizens a $65 a month benefits increase, a fair COLA each and every year, and enhanced benefits. Read the full text of the bill here.
