Where Are All the Retirees Fleeing Florida Going?
While the Sunshine State was the most popular retirement destination for many years, retirees are now fleeing Florida. Property taxes, homeowners’ insurance and hurricanes are just a few of the reasons retirees are no longer wanting to call Florida home. A GoBankingRates article on MSN discovered that seniors seeking a lower cost of living, taxes, and housing expenses, plus a better overall quality of life, are now moving to Texas, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Arkansas and Iowa.
The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of America’s retirees through the passage of The Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual COLA, increased minimum benefits, and will ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
