We are experiencing a so-called “Silver Tsunami.” According to CBS News, in 2024 the United States will see the largest surge in retirement-age Americans in history. An average of 11,000 Americans a day are expected to celebrate their 65th birthday this year.

The Alliance for Lifetime Income declares we have entered the Peak 65 Zone, during which approximately 4.1 million Americans will turn 65 this year and every year through 2027. It’s expected to change the face of our country’s retirement landscape and drastically impact Social Security — which is already facing a pending deficit.

The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the lives of America’s retirees through passage of The Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), and increased minimum benefits allowing more seniors to live without financial stress. This bill will also ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
