As part of its pledge to improve customer service, the Social Security Administration (SSA) is now providing beneficiaries with 24/7 access to the program’s online portal to complete tasks such as requesting a replacement Social Security card, setting up direct deposit, or changing the address associated with an account.

According to a Fox Business report, an upgrade to my Social Security in mid-July gave customers full access to the portal; before that, there were times during the week and on weekends when the portal was unavailable.

The SSA has been working to improve its customer service record. Commissioner Frank Bisignano said his “top priority is to transform SSA into a model of excellence — an organization that operates at peak efficiency and delivers outstanding service to every American.”

The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of older Americans through the passage of the Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), increased minimum benefits, and ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
