The Social Security Administration (SSA) is alleviating some of the stress associated with visiting its offices. According to an article in Big Rapids News, the Mobile Check-In Express feature allows users to use their mobile phone to scan a QR code located at their local Social Security office when checking in for both scheduled and non-scheduled appointments.

Additionally, the service can be used when requesting a replacement Social Security card, a benefit verification letter, proof of income, and other services.

To use the Mobile Check-In Express feature, you must be in the SSA office and have your mobile phone’s location services turned on. This is just another way the SSA is working to become more user-friendly and provide a more positive customer service experience.

The Seniors Trust is working diligently to improve and protect Social Security. We feel the best way to do this is through the passage of the Social Security Expansion Act. This landmark bill will buttress the long-term solvency of Social Security by expanding benefits for seniors — not cutting them.
