It’s virtually impossible to memorize all the rules about Social Security – there are more than 2,700 listed in the Social Security Handbook. Fortunately, you don’t need to read through this lengthy publication because Social Security expert Martha Shedden, president and co-founder of the National Association of Registered Social Security Analysts, has done the work for you. In a recent article on MarketWatch, she picked out the ten things everyone needs to know about Social Security. It lists ten true or false statements – complete with answers – so you can test your knowledge.

The Seniors Trust is working to pass legislation to improve Social Security. Seniors worked hard and contributed into Social Security for many years, so they deserve all that they’re entitled too. Protecting and expanding Social Security retirement benefits for every American senior is a must. We call on Congress to enact the Social Security Expansion Act, which would buttress the long-term solvency of Social Security by expanding benefits for seniors – not cutting them.
