The New Way Seniors Are Making Meaningful Connections

Making meaningful connections can be a challenge as we age. In many communities, senior centers play an invaluable in helping older adults to stay active and engaged. However, access can be limited for seniors facing mobility and transportation issues. That’s changing for residents near Rochester, New York.
WXXI News reports that a new virtual senior center is offering Monroe County residents, age 60 and older, access to a series of free, interactive, online programs ranging from health and education to socializing. The virtual senior center utilizes the Enliveo app in partnership with the New York State Office for the Aging, meaning residents can connect with seniors in other areas of the state.
Seniors’ personal and financial well-being are equally important. The Seniors Trust is committed to helping older Americans through the passage of the Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual COLA, increased minimum benefits, and ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
