How to Speak Up If You’re Being Mask Shamed

Mask mandates have been lifted throughout most of the country, but not everyone is ready to forego face coverings in public. This is leading to uncomfortable situations for many mask-wearers. It seems there is a new form of mask shaming going on, with mask-wearers being harassed in some situations. HuffPost looked into this and spoke to experts on what to do if you find yourself being questioned or attacked for wearing a face mask in public.

The article reveals some tactics to help you respond or de-escalate the situation, but the most important thing to remember is that this is your choice. Everyone has their own level of comfort and, the fact is, although we may now be in the endemic phase, people are still getting COVID-19. Mask wearing  might even be a necessity if you, or someone in your family, has an underlying health factor which requires the extra layer of precaution. Be confident in your decision — you do you!
