Social Security is facing a financial crisis. If nothing changes, benefits could be cut in less than 10 years. Needless to say, this has many seniors concerned. According to an article by The Motley Fool, while inflation is the biggest worry for older Americans, Social Security is a close second. A survey by Nationwide found that 84% percent of Americans ages 60 to 65 say they are worried their Social Security benefits could be cut.

That’s why it is more important than ever that Congress enacts the Social Security Expansion Act. The Seniors Trust is working diligently to make that happen. Not only will this landmark piece of legislation secure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program, but it will also increase monthly benefits and establish a fair cost-of-living adjustment (COLA).
