The new retirement hotspot is probably not where you would think. According to an article in People magazine, the top city for retiring baby boomers is Austin, Texas. A Moody Analytics report shows the population of adults ages 65 and older doubled between 2010 and 2020, largely because of Austin’s affordable cost of living.

Other cities that are seeing an increase in retirees are Boise, Idaho; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Atlanta, Georgia; Houston, Texas; Charleston, S.C.; Jacksonville, Florida.; Dallas, Texas; Colorado Springs, Colorado.; and Washington, D.C.

The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of America’s retirees through passage of The Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), and increased minimum benefits. This landmark bill will also ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
