Model Behavior: Calendar Features Seniors Posing as Famous Portraits
Charitable calendars aren’t just for handsome firefighters. According to the Good News Network, the residents of a nursing home in Oxfordshire, England, posed for pictures, recreating some of the world’s most famous portraits such as Grant Wood’s American Gothic and Frida Kahlo’s Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird.
Using everyday items such as a tablecloth and stuffed animals to make costumes and props, the staff helped transform the elderly residents into the images made famous in these portraits.
In addition to the calendars, their photos are also on display in the reception area of the facility, which houses seniors needing nursing or memory care.
The Seniors Trust is working to ensure all seniors live a good life. One of the ways to do that is to safeguard Social Security. We are calling on Congress to pass the Social Security Expansion Act. This landmark piece of legislation will provide bigger monthly benefits, establish a fairer cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), and secure its long-term solvency.
