Retirees received a 2.8% Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2026. But things aren’t looking so good for next year. According to an article by Newsweek, analysts predict the 2027 COLA will be 2.5%.

That’s definitely trending in the wrong direction. With the high costs of housing and health care, retirees are struggling financially these days. They need a bigger COLA, not smaller.

The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the financial well-being of older Americans through the passage of the Social Security Expansion Act. It will give retirees an immediate benefits increase of about $200 a month, a fair annual COLA, increased minimum benefits, and ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
