COVID Concerns: Health Experts Say Don’t Underestimate Omicron Variant
Health experts are warning people not to underestimate the rapidly spreading omicron variant, even though it appears to cause less severe infections than its predecessor — the delta variant. The problem is omicron’s symptoms can easily be mistaken for the common cold. According to a CNBC report, the top five symptoms are: running nose, headache, fatigue, sneezing, and sore throat.
Because omicron is highly contagious, experts fear it will soon become the dominant strain of COVID-19 but people might not realize they have coronavirus, thinking it’s just a cold. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, health officials urge you to stay home or get tested.
