What COVID Has Taught Us About the Importance of Improving Indoor Air Quality

Because of COVID-19, we’ve learned a lot about the importance of improving indoor air quality. Scientific American’s COVID, Quickly podcast explored this subject and found that we need to step up efforts to improve the air we breathe. Especially when you consider that we spend 90 percent of our time indoors.

Part of the problem is energy efficiency. When builders started sealing things up better to reduce AC/heating bills, that also meant it was easier for viruses and germs to accumulate in the air we breathe. There’s a new push to improve the quality of air inside buildings focused on three pillars: Ventilation, Filtration and Air Disinfection. So, one positive thing that might come out of the pandemic is that we may soon be breathing cleaner and healthier air!

The Seniors Trust is committed to improving the lives of seniors by working to improve Social Security. It wants to see Congress pass the Social Security Expansion Act. This landmark piece of legislation will provide bigger monthly Social Security benefits, establish a more realistic cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for seniors, and guarantee the long-term solvency of the Social Security program.
